Are there credit cards for the unemployed?
Unemployed people are very restricted when it comes to loans, accounts or credit cards, but nowadays the credit card is playing an increasingly important role as a means of payment and in some cases you can only pay by credit card. But what about those who cannot apply for a credit card due to poor creditworthiness, a Credit Bureau entry or unemployment?
You are currently unemployed, but would you still like to have a credit card? This is not a problem, because there are credit cards available for everyone, even for teenagers. We are talking about credit cards on a credit basis, which are usually debit cards or prepaid credit cards. The latter are becoming increasingly popular and are now widely used.
As the name suggests, prepaid credit cards have to be charged beforehand so that you can pay with your credit card. Therefore, it is often disputed that prepaid or debit cards are “real” credit cards, since with these credit card types no interest-free credit is granted until the one-off billing. Except for this one point, credit cards on a credit basis do not differ in their usability from “real” credit cards.
Top up your credit
But it is not a disadvantage if you have to top up your credit before you can use your credit card. Because you always have a full overview and control over your expenses and avoid the risk of getting into debt. This is also the reason why prepaid credit cards are issued without a Credit Bureau query, credit check or minimum income because there is no risk for the bank that you will no longer be able to pay the amounts due to be repaid.
Prepaid credit cards are not only suitable for those who do not get the “conventional” credit card due to poor creditworthiness, negative Credit Bureau entry or unemployment, but also for young people or people who have full cost control want to keep.
